I got a wonderful gift over the holidays from
my long time friend and supporter of VSRN,
Phil “Santa Claus” Frank. He sent a large
collection of photos and negative art work
used in creating the famous Auto World Catalogs
from the 60’s and 70’s!
I’m sure that it’s been obvious to anyone who
ever even looked at VSRN,
that I’ve been their biggest fan since my
childhood, so this is an incredible gift!
As time permits, I’ll go through everything,
and try to figure out a way of organizing it
so that I can post some of it here for everyone
to see,

Magazine CD Update

The Big News is that I’ve finally gotten the first of the 6 Car Model CD’s done.
The first CD covers Vol 1 & 2, which runs from Jul/Aug 1962 to August 1963, a total of 18 issues. This includes all 7 of the small “digest” sized issues, and the 1st 11 full size issues. As with the other CD’s, a hotlinked Table Of Contents and cross-reference are available for each issue, and there is a combined cross-reference covering both issues.
For those of you who can’t wait for me to finish all of the rest of Car Model, I should point out that there already is a complete set of Car Model on 3 CD’s from Roger Miller at http://www.rmtcustoms.com . My scans are higher resolution, and I think should print out better, but the scans I’ve seen from this set are clear & readable. And at $40, the price is reasonable.
The other new CD is a combined Model Roads
& Racing plus Miniature Auto World Magazines from England. These were
the
predecessors to the well respected
Miniature Auto Magazine (also on a VSRN CD, plug, plug), which eventually
merged with Model Cars Magazine.
These CD's are available from www.professormotor.com.
Typically, what is done is to have you order one of the CD's listed on the Prof Motor site and then add a note explaining what it is you want, and email me the note also.
