Welcome to first issue of VSRN-Online!

For those of you new to VSRN, issues 1 to 100 were available as printed copies, by subscription only.Over the past 3 years, I've been looking at ways to continue VSRN in an electronic form, and it is only recently that things have come together to make it possible. Thanks to Paul Kassens of OldWeirdHerald fame for offering to host VSRN.

I expect that the content will be about the same as the printed version. The main difference will be that there are no Classified Ads, at least not at the moment. Even though Ads were quite popular, there were "headaches" that went along with them...As before, I'll try to keep you posted on New Products, good ideas, or sources that I find out about.

Readers of VSRN were always an interesting bunch, and a valuable resource for answering your slot questions. There certainly will be a "Letters to the Editor" section as well as the ever popular "HELP!!!" in the online version. I'm looking forward to hearing from any previous VSRN'ers, as well as new readers:

The Feature articles were fun to do, and enjoyed by the readers. I expect that with VSRN-Online, the Feature topics will be limited, but covered in much more detail. The ability to show color photos will be great! The VSRN Reference Library is still around. I'm in the process of reorganizing it, and seeing how best to store it electronically.

Letters to the Editor
Hi Greg
How about the online publication in a printable page format similar to the
old VSRN?  This would allow  readers to make a hard copy that would be a
continuation of the 100 issues.  By having such, it would be something more
than the standard read and delete stuff on the net now.
Keep on revvin'

(Ed Note:
Bill was one of the original 12 subscribers to VSRN, back at least 100 years ago!
Good idea, Bill. I’ve created a printable version in Adobe Acrobat – if you don’t already have the Adobe Viewer software, you can download it for FREE from www.adobe.com. This Adobe version probably will not have all of the photo links that the online version does, but it will be close enough.... Sorry, but I can't accomodate requests for printed copies.

(OK maybe EVENTUALLY is more like it!)
We'll take a close-up look at the thingie that started it all:the Classic Manta Ray!
Did you know that there were at least 5 different Manta Rays?  And that’s not really it’s complete name!

I’m an amateur mold maker from way back, so look for some how-to’s on molding /casting anything from various bits and pieces up to entire bodies.

Suggestions? Let's hear from YOU! [Prev] [Top]
